Toshiba Satellite L955 screen replacement  Step one  Remove the battery from your laptop and, unplug the machine from the mains power. Next, disconnect all external devices, (such as speakers and memory sticks.) Once you've done that, use your fingers or a flat edged implement, (a guitar plectrum or razor,) to prise the aesthetic covers, (located in each corner,) off of the front bezel. Next, unscrew the screws hidden underneath the covers and, set them aside safely. Next, gently, (but firmly,) prise the front bezel away from the rest of the screen casing. Work your way around each edge of the front bezel, freeing it from the laptop.  Step two  Once you've removed the bezel, unscrew the screws, (four in total; open in each corner,) used to hold the broken Toshiba Satellite L955 screen in place.  Step three  Take hold of the top of the broken screen and pull it towards you, laying it to rest, face down, on the keyboard in front. On the back of the screen, (t the very bottom,) you should see a cable attached. Disconnect this cable by peeling back any strips of adhesive holding it in place and, by releasing it from its connector.  Step four  Remove the broken screen from your laptop. Unscrew each of these screws and set them aside. You'll also need to remove a further six screws, (three on each side,) from the sides of the screen. Next, take hold of the top of the display and gently pull it towards you, laying it to rest, face down, on the laptop keyboard. On the back of the screen, you should see a ribbon-like cable, (with a gold end,) attached to a gold connector. Disconnect this cable. Unplug the cable that runs from the damaged screen to the inverter boards. Next, remove, (and safely set aside,) the screws holding the broken Toshiba Satellite screen in the metal holding frame. When you are sure you have removed all of the screws, gently pull the screen towards you. At the back, (and top,) of the screen, you should find a ribbon like cable. Disconnect this cable, (removing the piece of tape holding it in place, if need be.)  Step three  Next, unscrew the remaining screws holding the broken screen in place. You should now be in a position to remove the damged screen from the body of the machine. To fit your newly bought Toshiba Satellite screen, simply perform the above instructions in reverse.
