Google Unveils the Chromebook Pixel

Google's Chromebook Pixel

Yesterday, Google unveiled its new touch screen laptop, “The Chromebook Pixel,” based on a Chrome operating system. Google has stated that the machine is equipped with the highest resolution display to be found in a laptop.

What can we expect from the new machine?

The details

The Chromebook Pixel is specifically targeted at consumers who utilize cloud based services to store their data, (there is no desktop software on the machine.) Purchase of the laptop provides buyers with 1 terabyte of storage in the cloud for a period of three years. Sundar Pichai, Google’s senior vice president for Chrome opined that the model is “the best laptop from a hardware standpoint...for people who have committed to the cloud."

The Chromebook pixel, manufactured in Taiwan, will be available for purchase at the website and online at the Google play store.
