Below, you'll find instructions that will help guide you through the Asus X551CA screen replacement process.
How to replace an Asus X551CA screen
Before beginning your repair, make sure that you have removed the battery from your laptop. You should also ensure a.) that you have unplugged it from the mains power and b.) that you have disconnected any peripheral devices, (such as speakers, memory sticks and/or hard drives.) Next, prise off the aesthetic covers found on the bottom two corners of the front bezel. Underneath these covers, you'll find two screws. Remove these, also, and, set them aside safely.
Then, using a flat edged implement or you fingers, firmly, (but gently,) prise off the front bezel, working your way around the outer edges of the screen. Note: the front bezel is attached using clips which click into place. Once you are sure that you have sufficiently loosened the front bezel, carefully remove it from the machine and, set it aside safely. Having removed the front bezel, you should see the broken Asus X551CA screen sitting in a metal holding frame. Remove all of the screws holding it in place and, set them aside safely. Next, take hold of the top of the screen and and lay it, face, down, on the keyboard in front. At the back, (and bottom,) of the screen, you should see a cable attached. Disconnect this cable, (peeling back any tape or adhesive if necessary.)
You should now be able to remove the broken Asus X511CA screen from your machine. To fit your newly bought replacement screen, all you need to do is perform the above instructions in reverse. It's really that simple!
