How to replace a HP Pavilion G7 screen

Step one

Before beginning you repair, unplug your laptop from the mains power and remove the battery. You should also make sure that you have disconnected any, (and all,) peripheral devices, (eg. memory sticks and/or speakers.) When you're ready to begin, use a flat edged implement to prise off the aesthetic covers, (located on the bottom corners of the front bezel,) used to disguise the bezel screws. Once you've removed, (and set aside,) the aesthetic covers, remove the screws hidden underneath and, set them aside safely. Next, use a flat edged implement or your fingers to work the front bezel away from the rest of the screen casing. Note: the front bezel clicks in and out of place.

Step two

Once you have sufficiently loosened the front bezel, working your way around each edge of the display, remove the front bezel from the laptop and, set them aside safely. Having removed the front bezel, you should see the broken HP Pavilion G7 screen sitting in a metal holding frame. Pull the top of the screen slightly towards you. On either side of the display you should see several screws, Remove these screws and set them aside safely. Once you've removed all of these screws, pull the broken screen towards you, laying it to rest, face down, on the keyboard in front.

Step three

At the bottom, (and back,) of the broken HP Pavilion G7 screen, you should see a thick cable attached to a gold connector. Disconnect this cable by pulling it free form the connector. Note: feel free to peel away any strips of adhesive, if necessary.

Once you've disconnected this cable, you should be able to remove the damaged display from the body of the laptop. To replace the broken HP Pavilion G7 screen with a newly bought replacement, simply complete the above instructions in reverse. That's all there is to it!
