Below, you'll find detailed, step by step instructions that will help guide you through the Asus X55A screen replacement process.

How to replace an Asus X55A screen

Step one

Before beginning your repair, unplug your laptop from the mains power and, remove the battery, You should also make sure that you have disconnected any, (and all,) peripheral devices, (such a s speakers, memory sticks and.or hard drives.) When you're ready to begin, use your fingers or a flat edged tool, (a debit card or guitar plectrum,) to prise the aesthetic covers off of the bottom corners of the front bezel. Proceed by removing the screws hidden underneath these covers

Step two

Once you've removed the screws on the front bezel, use your fingers, a flat edged implement or an opening tool to prise the front bezel away from the rest of the screen casing. Work your way around each edge o the screen bezel, easing it away fro the damaged display as you go, When you feel that you have sufficiently loosened the front bezel, lift it away fro the laptop and, set it aside safely. Note: the front bezel is held in place using a number of plastic hooks that clip in and out of place. Take care when removing it from the laptop so as to avoid snapping it in the process.

Step three

Once you've removed the front bezel, you should see the broken Asus X55A screen being held in place by two further screws, (one in each , top corner.) remove each of these screws and, set them aside safely. Next, take hold of the top of the broken screen, and gently pull it towards you, laying it to rest, face down, on the keyboard in front. On the back of the screen, you should see a thick cable attached to a gold connector. Disconnect this cable, (peeling back any strips of adhesive holding it in palce, if necessary.)

Step four

You should now be able to remove the damaged display from your laptop. To fit your newly bought Asus X55A screen, all you need to do is complete the instructions, (as describe above,) in reverse.
