Is it Difficult to Replace a HP Pavilion DV2000 Screen?

There's no need to worry when you break your HP Pavilion dv2000 screen. Though you may feel daunted by the task at first, laptop screen replacement requires very little technical expertise. How to replace a HP Pavilion dv2000 screen 

Step one 

Before beginning your repair, remove the battery from your laptop and, unplug it from the mains power. You should also make sure that you have disconnected any, (and all,) peripheral devices such as memory sticks and/or hard drives.) When you're ready to begin, use a flat edged implement, (such as a debit card or a guitar plectrum,) or your fingers to prise the aesthetic covers, (six in total,) off of the front bezel. Once you have removed all of the aesthetic covers, rmeove the screws hidden underneath and, set them aside safely. 

Step two 

Use your fingers to work the front bezel away from the rest of the screen casing. Take care when removing the front bezel, so as to avoid snapping it in the process. 

Step three

At the bottom of the eposed screen, you should see a thin strip of electronics, (the inverter.) Disconnect the thin cable attached to the right hand side of the inverter. 

Step four

Remove the screws, (four in total,) from the bottom of the exposed screen. 

Step five 

Takw hold of the top of the broken HP Pavilion dv2000 screen and carefully pull it towards you, laying it to rest, face down, on the laptop keyboard. On the back of the screen you should see a thick cable attached. Disconnect this cable, peeling back any strips of adhesive, if necessary. 

Step six 

You should now be able to rmeove the broken screen from your laptop. Note: you'll need to remove the brackets used to hold the old screen in place by removing three screws from each side of the display, Attach the brackets to your nely bought HP Pavilion dv2000 replacement screen. To complete your repair, all you need to do is complete the above instructions in reverse.
