How to Replace your Asus Fonepad ME371MG Screen

Replacing your Asus Fonepad ME371MG screen

We understand how frustrating a broken Asus Fonepad ME371MG screen can be, (and how expensive repair can get.) That's why we've provided free instructions below that will help guide you through the entire Fonepad screen replacement process.

Asus Fonepad ME371MG screen replacement: a step by step guide

Step one

Turn off your Fonepad, unplug it from the mains power and, make sure that you have disconnected any, (and all,) external devices, (such as speakers and.or headphones.) It is also always a good idea to make sure all of your data is backed up before beginning any repair.

Step two

Lift the sim cover away from the device.

Step three

Carefully prise the back cover of the device away from the rest of the machine, using a flat edged tool or a screwdriver.

Step four

On the back of the device, you should see three cables, (with gold ends,) attached. Disconnect each of these cables, (using your fingers or a flat edged implement.)

Step five

Use a professional heat gun or a hairdryer to heat the adhesive used to hold the front glass in place. Remember not to apply heat consistently and over long periods as this can cause damage to the device. Whilst heating the front glass, prise the front display away from the rest of the device, inserting flat edged implement, as you go, to prevent the adhesive fusing the device closed again.

Step six

When you have begun to separate the front display from the rest of the device, feed the three connector, (mentioned above,) through the holes used to hold them in place.

Step seven

Re-attach the Fonepad earpiece.

Step eight

Use a flat edged tool or a razor to ease the broken Fonepad screen away from the casing in which it sits. Work your way around each edge of the display, prising it out of place.

Step nine

Remove the broken screen from the Fonepad. Proceed by scarping away any glue still attached to the holding frame. To fit your replacement Asus Fonepad screen, place it in the holding frame and connect the cables attached to it to the body of the device.

Step ten

To complete your repair, all you need to do is complete the instructions, (as outlined above,) in reverse order.
