Replacing a broken Acer Aspire 5742z screen  Though you may fell daunted by the prospect of replacing your broken laptop screen yourself, contrary to popular belief, the whole process is much easier than you might think. We receive hundreds of testimonials from satisfied customers who have managed to replace their first broken screen with surprising ease.  How to replace an Acer Aspire 5742z screen  Step one  Disconnect any, (and all,) external devices, (eg, speakers/memory sticks,) attached to your laptop. Next, unplug your laptop and remove the battery. Once you've done that, prise the aesthetic covers, (used to disguise screws,) off of the bottom corners of the front bezel. Then unscrew the screws and, set them aside safely.  Step two  Gently, (but firmly,) prise the front bezel away from the rest of the screen casing. Work your way around each edge of the display, easing the front bezel from the machine. Remember to take care when removing the front bezel, to avoid breaking it in the process.  Step three  Unscrew the screws, (six in total; three on each side,) found on the left and right hand sides of the display.  Step four  Pull the top of the screen towards you. At the back of the screen, (at the top,) you should see a thin cable running towards the laptop web cam. Disconnect this cable. Pull the screen further toward you and lay it to rest on the laptop keyboard. On the back of the screen, you'll see a thick cable attached to a gold connector and, held in place using strips of tape or adhesive. Disconnect this cable.  Step five Lift the broken Acer Aspire 5742z screen free from the laptop. Can I replace my Acer Aspire V5 screen? Have you broken your Acer Aspire V5 screen? There's no need to worry. Armed with the correct information, you can easily replace your laptop screen yourself. Below, you'll find simple, step by step instructions that will help guide you through the Acer Aspire V5 screen replacement process.  Acer Aspire V5 screen replacement  Step one  Unplug your laptop from the mains power and, remove the battery. You should also check to make sure that you have disconnected all external devices connected to your laptop, (such as speakers, memory sticks and/or hard drives.) Next, work your way around each edge of the front bezel, prising it away from the broken screen. Apply pressure to each edge of the front bezel, easing it away from the screen casing. Remember to take care when removing the front bezel from your laptop as it is brittle and, often easily broken.  Step two  Once you've removed the front bezel, unscrew the screws, (four in total; one in each corner,) holding the broken screen in place.  Step three  Carefully take hold of the top of the screen, beginning to pull it towards you. Note: you may find that the back of the screen is also held in place by adhesive. If you find that this is, indeed, the case, you'll need to apply some force when pulling the damaged display from its holding frame. Attached to the back, (and top,) of the screen is the web camera cable. You'll need to disconnect this cabe before continuing.  Step four  Once you've disconnected the web camera cable, take hold of the top of the broken screen and pull it towards you, laying it to rest, face down, on the keyboard in front. On the back, (and very bottom,) of the screen, you should see a cable attached to a gold connector and held in place using a stip of adhesive. Disconnect this cable.  Step five  Lift the broken Acer Aspire V5 screen free from your laptop and, set it aside. Replacing an Acer Aspire 4830 screen  We understand how annoying a broken laptop screen can be, That's why we ship all of our screens out quickly. Though it may seem a daunting task at first, laptop screen replacement is surprisingly simple. In fact, some of our customers have managed to replace their broken screen in just half an hour. Below you'll find step by step instructions that will help guide you through the Acer Aspire 4830 screen replacement process.  Acer Aspire 4830 screen replacement  Step one  Before doing anything else, remove the battery from your laptop and, unplug the machines from the mains power. You should aso make sure that you have  unplugged any, (and all,) peripheral devices, (such as speakers and/or hard drives.) When you're ready to begin, use a flat edged implement, (such as a debit card or a razor,) to prise the aesthetic covers off of the bottom corners of the front bezel. Once you've removed both of the aesthetic covers, remove the screws hidden underneath and, set them aside safely.  Step two  Next, use a flat edged implement or your fingers to gently prise the front bezel away from the rest of the screen casing. Work your way around each edge of the front bezel, prising it away from the screen casing. Note: take care when removing the front bezel as it is brittle and can be broken easily. When you are sure that you have loosened the font bezel sufficiently, rmeove it from the laptop and, set it aside safely. You should see the broken Acer Aspire 4830 screen held in place by four further screws, (one in each corner.) Remove these screws also, and, set them aside safely. Next, gently pull the top of the broken screen towards you, laying it to rest, face down, on the laptop keyboard. Step three  On the bottom, (and back,) of the screen, you should see a large cable attached. Disconnect this cable by freeing it from its golden connector. Note: feel free to pull back any strips of adhesive if necessary. You should now be able to rmeove the broken Acer Aspire 4830 screen from the laptop. To fit your newly bogut replacement screen, all you need to do is complete the above instructions in reverse. In fact, some of our customers have managed to replace their broken laptop screen in just half an hour! Below, you''ll find step by step instructions, (as well as a number of resources,) to help guide you through the Acer Aspire One D255E screen replacement process.  Replacing an Acer Aspire One D255E screen  Step one  Before doing anything else, unplug your laptop from the mains power and remove the battery. You should also make sure that you have disconnected any, (and all,) peripheral devices, (such as speakers, memory sticks and/or hard drives.) When you're ready to begin, use a flat edged implement or your fingers to prise the aesthetic covers, (found at the bottom of the display) away from the front bezel. Once you've removed, (and set aside,) the aesthetic covers, remove the screws hidden uunderneath and, set them aside safely, also.                                Step two  Next, use a flat edged implement or your fingers to prise the front bezel away from the rest of the screen casing. Work your way around each side of the front bezel. When you are sure that you have sufficiently loosened the front bezel, rmeove it from your laptop and, set it aside safely. Once you've removed the front bezel, you should see the broken Acer Aspire One D255E screen being held in place by four further screws, (one in each corner.) Remove each of these screws and, set them aside safely. Once you've done that, pull the damaged display slightly towards you and, disconnect the top of the web camera cable.  Step three Next, pull the broken screen further towards you and lay it to rest, face down, on the keyboard in front. On the back of the screen, you should see along, thin cable attached. This is the rest of the web camera cable. Remove this cable from the back of the screen, loosening any adhesive, if necessary. At the bottom, (and back,) of the screen, you should also see a ribbon like cable attached to a golden connector. Disconnect this cable by releasing it from the connector, (peeling back any strips of adhesive holding it in place, if necessary.)  Step four  You should now be able to remove the broken Acer Aspire One D255E screen from your laptop. To fit your newly bought replacement screen, all you need to do is complete the above instructions in reverse. I'm having problems with my Acer screen From time to time, you may find that the brightness on your Acer screen diminishes, making it difficult to see, or, that the manner in which the colours are displayed on the screen varies in strange ways. Below, you'll find solutions to these display related problems.  Solving common screen problems My screen's too bright/not as bright as it should be To adjust the brightness of your Acer screen, simultaneously hold down the Fn key and, either the left or right arrow keys, (found on the right-hand side of your keyboard.) If your Acer screen is too dark, and you’re finding it difficult to work, press the Fn key and the arrow key on the right to make the display lighter. Alternatively, if your Acer screen is too bright, hold down the Fn key and the left hand arrow key to take the edge off of the brightness.
