Acer Aspire 5742z Screen Replacement

Next, unplug your laptop and remove the battery. Once you've done that, prise the aesthetic covers, (used to disguise screws,) off of the bottom corners of the front bezel. Then unscrew the screws and, set them aside safely.  Step two  Gently, (but firmly,) prise the front bezel away from the rest of the screen casing. Work your way around each edge of the display, easing the front bezel from the machine. Remember to take care when removing the front bezel, to avoid breaking it in the process.  Step three  Unscrew the screws, (six in total; three on each side,) found on the left and right hand sides of the display.  Step four  Pull the top of the screen towards you. At the back of the screen, (at the top,) you should see a thin cable running towards the laptop web cam. Disconnect this cable. Pull the screen further toward you and lay it to rest on the laptop keyboard. On the back of the screen, you'll see a thick cable attached to a gold connector and, held in place using strips of tape or adhesive. Disconnect this cable.  Step five Lift the broken Acer Aspire 5742z screen free from the laptop. You should also check to make sure that you have disconnected any external devices, (eg. memory sticks and/or speakers) attched to your laptop. Next, use your fingers or a flat edged implement to prise off the front bezel. Carefully work your way around each edge of the front bezel, easing it away from the broken screen. When you are convinced that you have sufficiently loosened the front bezel, remove it from the laptop and, set it aside. Step two  You should see a number of screws, (eight in total,) holding the exposed Dell Inspiron 1750 screen in place. Remove the screws at the top of the  display and, loosen the screws at the bottom.  Step three Take hold of the top of the broken screen, pulling it slightly towards you. Unscrew the screws on each side of the screen, (four in total; two on each side.)  Next, pull the screen  towards you and lay it to rest, face down on the keyboard in front. . On the back of the screen, (at the bottom,) you should see  a thick cable attached to a golden connector. Disconnect this cable by pulling it free from its connector, (and by peeling back any stips of tape, if necessary.)  Step four  Remove the broken screen from your laptop. How to Replace a Toshiba Satellite Screen

But, did you know that you can save valuable time and money by replacing your Toshiba Satellite screen yourself? Contrary to popular belief, laptop screen replacement requires very little technical expertise. Below you’ll find detailed instructions on how to replace your damaged Toshiba Satellite screen.  How to replace a damaged Toshiba Satellite screen Step one  Firstly, before doing anything else, ensure that you have removed your laptop’s battery and, that you have unplugged your machine from the mains power. You should also make sure that you have disconnected any external devices, (such as speakers, drives, and/or iPods.) Next, unscrew the screws holding the screen cover in place, (note: these screws are often hidden by plastic covers which will need to be carefully removed first.) Then, gently ease off the screen cover and the bezel surrounding your broken Toshiba Satellite screen.  Step two  You should now be in a position to gain access to the screen inverter, (the green board found near the bottom of the screen.) Unplug the cable that runs from the damaged screen to the inverter boards. Next, remove, (and safely set aside,) the screws holding the broken Toshiba Satellite screen in the metal holding frame. When you are sure you have removed all of the screws, gently pull the screen towards you. At the back, (and top,) of the screen, you should find a ribbon like cable. You should now be in a position to remove the damged screen from the body of the machine. To fit your newly bought Toshiba Satellite screen, simply perform the above instructions in reverse.
