Can I replace my HP Pavilion G6 screen?
We understand how deeply annoying and frustrating it can be when you break your laptop screen, however, laptop screen replacement is surprisingly simple. What's more, in completing your repair yourself, you could save valuable time and money. Below, you'll find step by step instructions to help guide you through the HP Pavilion G6 screen replacement process.

How to replace a HP Pavilion G6 screen
Step one
Firstly, before doing anything else, disconnect your laptop from any (and all) power sources, remove the battery and disconnect all peripheral devices, (eg. speakers, memory sticks and/or hard drives.) Once you have done that, locate and prise off the aesthetic screw covers found at the bottom left, (and right,) of the front bezel. Once you have prised these plastic covers off, use a small screwdriver to remove the screws hidden underneath and, set them aside safely.
Step two
Next, gently prise the front bezel away from the bottom of the damaged display. Note: proceed with caution: the plastics surrounding the broken HP Pavilion G6 screen are held in place by a number of clips. Carefully work your way around the front bezel, prising it away from the screen casing. Once you are convinced that you have sufficiently loosened the bezel, remove it from the laptop and, set it aside safely.
Step three
Having exposed the broken screen, you should see two screws, (at the top left and right.) Remove these screws and set them aside safely. Next, you'll need to partly unscrew four screws located at the bottom of the exposed display. Then, remove the screws found on the left (and right,) hand side of the screen. Having completed all of these steps, gently take hold of the top of the broken screen, carefully laying it, (face-down,) on the laptop keyboard.
Step four
At the bottom, (and back,) of the screen, you should see a thick cable attached. Disconnect this cable, (temporarily removing adhesive, or tape, if necessary.) You should now be able to remove the broken screen from the body of the machine. To fit your replacement HP Pavilion G6 screen, all you need to do is perform the above instructions in reverse.
