Can I Replace my HP Pavilion DV3 Screen?

Replacing a HP Pavilion dv3 screen 

There's no need to worry when you break your HP Pavilion dv3 screen. Though a daunting task at first, laptop screen replacement requires very little technical expertise. In fact, many of our customers have manged to replace their broken screen in just half an hour. Below, you'll find step by step instructions, (as well as a number of helpful resources,) that will guide you through the HP Pavilion dv3 screen replacement process. 

How to replace a HP Pavilion dv3 screen 

Step one 

Before beginning your repair, unplug your laptop form the mains power and remove the battery. You should also pause to make sure that you have disconnected any, (and all,) peripheral devices, (such as memory sticks and/or speakers.) When you're ready to begin, use your fingers, a flat edged implement or an opening tool to prise the aesthetic covers, (found at the bottom of the screen,) off of the front bezel. Once you've removed the aesthetic covers, remove the screws hidden underneath and set them aside safely. 

Step two 

Use your fingers or a flat edged implement to prise the front bezel away from the rest of the screen casing. Work your way around each edge of the front bezel, easing it away from the broken HP Pavilion dv3 screen. Once you are sure that you have sufficiently loosened the front bezel, remove it from the laptop and,set it aside safely. 

Step three 

Once you've removed the front bezel you should see six screws holding the broken HP Pavilion dv3 screen in place, Remove each of these screws and, set them aside safely. 

Step four 

Pull the top of the screen slightly towards you, proceeding to unplug the cable on the right of the laptop's web camera. 

Step five 

On each side of the broken screen, you should see three screws, Remove each of these screws and set them aside safely. Pull the top pf the broken screen further towards you, laying it to rest, face down, on the laptop keyboard. On the back of the screen, you should see a thick cable attached to  golden connector. Disconnect this cable, (peeling back any strips of adhesive, if necessary.) 

Step six 

You should now be able to remove the broken screen from your laptop.To fit your newly bought replacement HP Pavilion dv3 screen, simply complete the instructions, as outlined above,) in reverse.
