Step one

Before beginning your repair, it is always a good idea to back up any important data. When you are ready to begin, turn off your device and unplug it from the mains power. Next, carefully prise the colourful plastic casing away from your Kurio 7.

Step two

At either end of your tablet, you should see two Philips screws, (four in total.) Remove each of these screw and safely set them aside.

Step three

Prise apart the front and back of your Kurio 7. Remember to take care when easing the two sides of your tablet apart, so as to avoid snapping any of the clips that help hold it together.

Step four

When you have worked your way around each side of your tablet, carefully separating the sides, remove the back casing and, safely set it aside. Next, use a flat edged implement to ease the battery attached to the back of the Kurio screen away from the rest of the tablet's electronics.

Step five
Remove each of the screws used to hold the motherboard in place.

Step six

Disconnect both of the ribbon cables at the top of the Kurio 7 tablet, making sure that you don't inadvertently remove any important strips of tape attached to either cables. Once you have disconnected the ribbon cables you should be able to lift the motherboard free form the back of the Kurio 7 screen.

Step seven

Carefully lift up the motherboard and let it rest at the bottom of the tablet. Use a flat-edged implement to ease the broken screen away from the touchscreen. Work your way around each edge of the broken screen, separating it from the digitizer. When you have successfully loosened the broken screen, lift it free from the tablet and set it aside. To fit your replacement screen, all you need to do is complete the above instructions in reverse order.
