Replacing a broken Dell Inspiron screen
Laptop screens are extremely fragile and are often easily damaged. A broken Dell Inspiron screen need not be a cause for concern, however. Laptop screen replacement, contrary to popular belief, is much easier than you might imagine. What's more, in replacing your damaged screen yourself, you could save valuable time and money. How to replace a damaged Dell Inspiron screen
Step one
Before doing anything else, remove the battery from your machine and make sure that it is unplugged from any (and all) power sources. You should ensure that you have disconnected any peripheral devices, (such as computer speakers and memory sticks,) also. Once you have completed these preliminary steps, you are ready to undertake your repair.
Step two
Next, locate and remove all of the screws holding the front bezel in place. Often these screws are hidden (for aesthetic purposes,) by plastic covers. In this case, you’ll need to carefully prise off these covers before continuing. When you are quite sure that you have located and removed all of the screws, gently, (but firmly,) pull the front bezel free from the machine,
Step three
You should now see the broken Dell Inspiron laptop screen sitting inside a metal holding frame. Locate and remove all of the screws holding the screen inside this frame. When you are sure that you have located and removed all of the screws, carefully pull the screen towards you. At the back, (and top,) of the screen, you should find a large, ribbon like cable: disconnect it. You should now be in a position to remove the screen from your machine.
Step four
To fit the replacement screen, all you need to do is perform the above actions in reverse. Once you’ve completed all of these steps, you will have successfully replaced your broken Dell Inspiron screen. It really is that simple!
