Replacing an Asus Transformer TF300 touchscreen
Though daunting at first, armed with the correct knowledge and the correct tools, you should be able to replace the touchscreen in your Asus Transformer TF300. Below, you'll find step by step instructions that will help guide you though the Asus Transformer TF300 touchscreen replacement process.
How to replace an Asus Transformer TF300 touchscreen
Step one
Firstly, before beginning your repair, ensure that your tablet is switched off and, that you have disconnected any, (and all,) peripheral devices, (such as memory sticks and speakers.) When you are ready to begin, use a flat edged implement, (such as a razor, a guitar plectrum or a debit card,) to prise the screen casing away from the rest of the tablet. Work your way around the edges of the tablet, loosening the front casing as you go. When you are sure that you have loosened the screen casing sufficiently, you should be able to separate it form the rest of the tablet.

Step two
Having separated it from the body of the machine, turn the damaged screen, (complete with backing,) over. On the back of the screen casing, you should see a number of coloured wires running towards a gold connector. Disconnect these wires, (by releasing them from the connector.)

Step three
You should also see a number of screws around the sides of the casing. Remove these screws and set them aside safely. Note: some of these screws may be hidden under plastic, aesthetic covers. Having removed all of the screws holding the back of the screen casing in lace, you should be able to separate it from the screen at the front. Note: you may need to use a flat edged implement or a plastic opening tool to prise the back casing away from the screen. Having removed the screen casing, you should see a white screen being held in place by black adhesive. Peel this adhesive back and remove it from the tablet. Next, use an opening tool to prise the screen out of place, working your way around each edge until you have loosened it sufficiently. You should then be able to separate the screen from the touchscreen, (which sits over it.) Use an opening tool to prise the touchscreen away from the frame which holds it in place. Once you've worked your way around each edge of the broken Asus Transformer TF300 touchscreen, gently prising it away from its holding frame, you should be able to remove the broken touchscreen.
Step four
To fit your newly bought Asus Transformer TF300 touchscreen, attach it to the metal holding frame, pressing down firmly on each edge to ensure that it sticks to the adhesive. To complete the repair, all you need to do is perform the above instructions in reverse, taking care to connect all cables properly.
