Replacing an LG XNote Screen

Can I replace my LG XNote screen?

We understand how frustrating it can be when you break your laptop screen. However, contrary to popular belief, laptop screen replacement requires very little technical expertise. In fact, some of our customers have managed to replace their screen in just half an hour. We receive hundreds of kind testimonials from satisfied customers. Below, you'll find step by step instructions, (as well as further resources,) that will help guide you through the LG XNote screen replacement process.

How to replace a LG XNote screen

Step one

Firstly, before doing anything else, make sure that you have unplugged your machine and that you have removed the battery. You should also make sure that you have disconnected any, (and all,) peripheral devices, (such as memory sticks, speakers and/or hard drive.) When you are ready to begin, use a flat edged implement or your fingers to prise the aesthetic covers off of the front bezel. Note: the aesthetic covers are located in each corner of the front bezel. When you have removed the aesthetic covers, remove the screws hidden underneath and, set them aside safely.

Step two

Once you've removed all of the front bezel screws, use your fingers or a flat edged implement to work the front bezel away from the rest of the screen casing. Note: take care when removing the screen bezel so as to avoid snapping it in the process.Once you are sure that you have loosened the front bezel sufficiently, remove it from the laptop and, set it aside safely.

Step three

Sitting at the bottom of the exposed screen, you should see a thin strip of electronics. This is the inverter board. Disconnect the thin cable that runs into the right hand side of the inverter, (as you look at the exposed screen.)

Step four

Once you have disconnected this cable, pull the top of the screen slightly towards you and remove the screws found on either side of the damaged display. At the top, (and back,) of the broken LG XNote screen, you should also see a thin cable running from the back of the screen to the web camera. Disconnect this cable, also. Having completed all of these steps, take hold of the top pf the screen and pull it towards you, laying it to rest, face down, on the laptop keyboard. On the back of  the screen, you should see a ribbon like cable attache to a gold connector. Disconnect this cable from the damaged display, releasing it from its connector and peeling back any adhesive, (if necessary.) Once you have disconnected this cable, you should be able to remove the broken LG XNote screen from your laptop.

Step five

To replace the damaged display with a newly bought replacement, all you need to do is complete the above instructions in reverse order. Laptop screen replacement is really that simple!
