Replacing the screen in a Dell Inspiron N5110
We understand how frustrating it can be when you break your laptop screen. That's why we do our best to ship out all of our screens quickly. Though it may seem daunting t first, laptop screen replacement requires very little technical expertise. Below, you'll find step by step instructions, (and further resources,) to help guide you through the screen replacement process.
How to replace a Dell Inspiron N5110
Step one
Before beginning your repair, unplug your laptop and remove the battery. You should also make sure that you have disconnected any, (and all,) peripheral devices, (such as speakers and.or memory sticks.) When you're ready to begin, use a flat-edged implement or your fingers to prise the front bezel away from the rest of the screen casing. Note: there aren't any screws holding the front bezel in place. Work your way around each side of the front bezel, easing it away from the display. When you have sufficiently loosened the front bezel, remove it from the laptop and, set it aside safely.
Step two
Having exposed the broken Dell Inspiron N5110 screen, you should see that it is held in place by two screws, (one in each, uppermost corner.) Pull the broken screen slightly towards you and disconnect the cable that runs from the back of the damaged display to the web camera. You'll also need to remove the screws on each side of the screen.
Step three
Next, pull the broken screen towards you and lay it, face down, on the laptop keyboard. On the back of the screen, you should see a thin, grey cable attached. Disconnect this cable. Note: this cable is held in place by rather strong adhesive so, don't worry if you have to apply a certain amount of force. Next, disconnect the ribbon-like cable attached to the gold connector at the bottom of the screen. (Peel back any strips of adhesive if necessary.)
Step four
You should now be able to remove the broken Dell Inspiron N5110 screen from your laptop. To fit your newly bought replacement screen, all you have to do is complete the instructions, (as described above,) in reverse.
