Replacing a broken Asus K53U screen
We understand how annoying it can be when you break your laptop screen. However, when armed with the correct knowledge, laptop screen replacement is far easier than you might think. Below, you'll find resources, (and step by step instructions,) that will help guide you through the Asus K53U screen replacement process.
How to replace an Asus K53U screen
Step one
Before you begin your repair, unplug your laptop from the mains power and remove the battery. You should also make sure that you have disconnect any, (and all,) peripheral devices, (such as speakers and/or memory sticks.) Next, use a flat edged implement or your fingers to prise the aesthetic covers, (used to disguise screws,) off of the front bezel. Once you have removed, (and safely set aside,) the aesthetic covers, remove the screws hidden underneath.
Step two
Next, carefully prise the front bezel away from the rest of the screen casing, working your way around each side of the broken screen. When you are convinced that you have loosened the front bezel sufficiently, remove it from the laptop and, set it aside safely. Having removed the front bezel, you should see six screws holding the broken Asus K53U screen in place, (two at the top and four at the bottom.) Remove each of these screws and, set them aside safely. Next, pull the top of the screen slightly towards you. On each side of the screen you should see four further screws. Remove each of these screws and, set them aside safely.
Step three
Once you've done that, pull the screen further towards you and lay it to rest, face down, on the laptop keyboard. On the back of the screen you should see a thick cable attached to a golden connector. Disconnect this cable by pulling it free from its connector, (peeling back any strips of adhesive in the process, if necessary.) You should now be able to rmeove the broken Asus K53U screen from your machine, To fit your newly bought replacement screen, all you need to do is complete the above instructions in reverse, It's really that simple!
