A guide to Dell Inspiron N4010 screen replacement
Before doing anything else, make sure that you have removed the battery from your laptop and, that you have unplugged your machine from the mains power. You should also make sure that you have disconnected any, (and all,) peripheral devices, (such as speakers, memory sticks and/or hard drives.) When you're ready to begin, use your fingers or a flat edged implement, (a debit card, razor or plectrum,) to prise the front bezel away from the damaged display. Work your way around each edge of the front bezel, separating it from the rest of the screen casing. When you are sure that you have sufficiently loosened the front bezel, remove it from the laptop and, set it aside safely.
Once you've removed the front bezel you should see the broken Dell Inspiron N4010 screen being held in place by six screws. Remove each of these screws and, set them aside safely.
Take hold of the top of the broken screen and, gently pull it towards you, laying it to rest, face down, on the laptop keyboard. On the exposed back cover, you may see a cable which runs from the body of the laptop to the web camera, Disconnect this cable. Note: this cable is held in place using strong adhesive. At the bottom of the broken screen, you should see a thick cable, (with a golden end,) attached to a golden connector. Disconnect this cable, (peeling back any strips of adhesive, if necessary)
You should now be able to remove the broken screen from the laptop. To fit your newly bought Dell Inspiron N4010 screen, all you need to do is complete the above instructions in reverse. It's really that simple!
