How to replace a Toshiba Satellite C655-S5212 screen
Step one
Firstly, unplug your laptop and remove the battery. You should also make sure that you have disconnected all external devices, (eg. memory sticks and/or speakers.) Next, use your fingers or a flat edged implement, (a debit card or razor,) to prise the aesthetic covers off of the front bezel. Once you've removed the aesthetic covers, remove the screws hidden underneath and, set them aside safely.
Step two
Close the lid of the laptop and turn the machine around so that you are able to remove the screws from the back of the hinges.
Step three
Prise the front bezel away from the rest of the screen casing. Work your way around each edge of the front bezel, loosening it as you go. Just a quick note: remember to take care when removing the front bezel so as to avoid snapping it in the process. Having exposed the broken screen, you should see four screws holding it in place. Unscrew each of these screws and set them aside. You'll also need to remove a further six screws, (three on each side,) from the sides of the screen. Next, take hold of the top of the display and gently pull it towards you, laying it to rest, face down, on the laptop keyboard. On the back of the screen, you should see a ribbon-like cable, (with a gold end,) attached to a gold connector. Disconnect this cable.
Step four
Lift the broken screen away from your laptop, To fit your replacement Toshiba Satellite C655-S5212 screen, follow the above instructions in reverse order.
