Replacing a Dell Inspiron 15 3542 screen

How to replace a Dell Inspiron 15 3542 screen
Step one
Unplug your laptop from any, (and all,) power sources and, remove the battery. You should also make sure that any, (and all,) external devices, (such as memory sticks or speakers,) have been disconnected. Next, unscrew the access door on the underside of the laptop.
Step two
Having removed the access door you should see thin (antenna) cables attached. Disconnect these cables.
Step three
Unscrew the screws on the bottom of the laptop.
Step four
Turn your laptop back around, open the lid and remove the keyboard by releasing the tabs holding it in place. (Use a flat edged implement; an opening tool or razor to prise the keyboard away from the laptop.) After removing the keyboard, disconnect the cable hidden underneath.
Step five
Unscrew the screws, (three in total,) used to hold the laptop palm-rest in place and then disconnect the cables connected to the palm-rest. Next, use an opening tool or a flat edged opening tool, (a razor or debit card,) to work the palm-rest plastics off of the laptop. Remove the palm-rest plastics and set them aside safely. Next,detach the circuit board, the DC jack, the thin cables to the right of the laptop and the LCD cable.
Step six
Remove the screws used to hold the laptop hinges in place.
Step seven
Remove the broken screen, (and surrounding casing,) away from the body of the laptop and, fit your newly bought replacement Dell Inspiron 15 3542 screen. To complete your repair, follow the instructions, (as outlined above,) in reverse order.
