July 2014 tori Laptop Screen Installation Help (0) Replacing an iPad Mini screen We understand how frustrating it can be when you break the screen on you iPad Mini. We understand, too, that this frustration is oftentimes fueled by the fact that Apple repairs are extremely costly. Though Apple repairs are by no means the easiest of tasks, with the correct knowledge, (and the correct tools,) you should be able to replace your broken iPad Mini screen yourself. How to replace an iPad Mini screen Step one Firstly, before you begin, you'll need to gather together a heat gun/hairdryer, a Phillips #00 screwdriver, a pair of tweezers, several flat edged implements, (guitar plectrums/debit cards,) an opening tool and a suction cup. Once you have all of these tools to hand, turn off your iPad Mini and begin your repair. Quick note: before completing this, (or any form of,) repair, ensure that all of your data is backed up. Once you are in a position to begin, apply heat, (using a hairdryer or a heat-gun,) to the right hand side of your iPad Mini: the application of heat will loosen the adhesive holding the front surrounding plastics in place. After applying heat to the right hand side of your iPad Mini, use a suction cu to gently prise the font panel away from the body of the machine. Once you have created a small gap between the front panel and the body of your iPad, insert an opening tool in the space to prevent the two pieces sticking together again. Step two Apply heat, again, to the right hand side of your iPad Mini. As you are doing this, insert a flat edged implement, (a plectrum or the side of a debit card,) next to the opening tool you inserted during the previous stage. Once you have inserted the extra implement, use the opening tool to gently prise the entire right side of the front panel away from the body of the machine, (taking care to feed in flat-edged implements as you go to ensure that the two part of the iPad son't stick together again.) Continue applying heat, using the opening tool to prose the front panel from the body of the machine and inserting flat-edged implements, working your way around the four edges of the machine. Once you have worked your way around the body of the machine, loosening the adhesive, you should be in a position to lift the glass on the front of the iPad up, laying it over, (and away from,) the machine. Take care not to try and pull the front panel away from the iPad however as, the two will still be connected via the touchscreen cable. Step three Once you have removed the front panel, you should be in a position to begin removing your broken iPad Mini screen. When looking at the exposed screen, you'll see that the screws holding it in place have been disguised suing small squares of foam. Use a pair of tweezers, (or a flat-edged implement,) to remove these pieces of foam, proceeding to set them aside safely. Next, remove the screws holding the screen in place using a Phillips #00 screwdriver. Step four Once you have removed all of the screws and set them aside safely, remove the small piece of adhesive which connects the frame of the screen to one of the iPad's speakers. Next, you should see long pieces of thin foam running around the broken screen. To remove the screen, you'll need to remove these pieces of foam and insert an opening tool between the screen frame and the adhesive, (which sits underneath.) You'll then need to loosen the adhesive holding the broken LCD in place. To do this, insert a flat-edged implement, (a plectrum or a debt card,) in between the adhesive and the screen frame at the top left of the machine. Use the flat-edged implement to gently, (but firmly,) prose the broken screen away from the body of the machine. Note: if your iPad Mini screen is badly damaged, take care when completing this step, so as to avoid injury. Step five Continue working your way around the broken screen with a flat-edged implement, easing it away from the body of your iPad. Next, slide an opening tool back and forth along the edges of the iPad, (between the adhesive and the front panel,) to remove the adhesive holding the broken screen in place. Continue doing this until you are sure you have sufficiently loosened the adhesive. You should now be in a position to lift the broken screen up, (taking care not to remove it, fully, from the machine.) Step six Once you have lifted the broken screen up, disconnect the iPad's speakers from the machine. Next, lifetthe screen up and rest it on the front panel. You should see a number of screws on the back of the LCD. Remove all of these screws and set them aside safely. Step six Remove the plate that shields the broken screen. Once you have done that, disconnect the connector shield by loosening the screws holding it in place. Next, use an opening tool to remove the battery and screen connectors. After this, loosen the remaining adhesive holding the broken screen in place by hold the screen and insert an opening tool into the gap at the bottom of the display and carefully running it along. Remove the remaining adhesive from both sides of the broken screen. You should now be able to remove the broken iPad Mini screen. Replacing the Laptop Screen LCD panel inside the machine can at first glance look like a daunting task. Don´t worry, it isn´t and we will show you in just a few easy steps how you can professionally replace the laptop screen in this range of laptops. We recommend a professional supplier of screens for the acer aspire range that you should liase with prior to this instruction. Replacing the screen in an Acer Aspire One Step by step instructions: 1) First and foremost, you must always remove the battery and the mains power before attempting any laptop repair. Screens can carry a high voltage so this is important. 2) Identify the screen hold covers, there are six of them around the laptop screen bezel (the bezel is the plastic frame around the laptop screen). Remove these rubber or plastic covers with a sharp knife and keep them safely. 3) Once removed, you will need to unscrew the screws that sit behind the plastic covers. Using a small philips head screwdriver firmly turn the screws counter clockwise to remove them. Also keep them safely. 4) Once removed you should be able to place your fingers, upside down on the screen glass, and using your nails gently life the bezel away from the back lid plastics. It will unsnap or pop out of place. You may think it is still fixed somewhere but once the six screws are removed it will come away with a gentle but firm lifting action. Do not bend the bezel at any point as this may snap it. Once removed you will notice 4 screws in each corner of the screen holding it into the frame which is attached to the back lid plastic. 5) Once these screws are removed, unplug the lead for the webcam above the screen. The white plug will pull away from the webcam circuitry with a gentle force. 6) The screen will now fall away from the laptop lid and you will notice one cable left in the rear of the display. This is the signal cable, responsible for communicating the image from the base of the laptop to the screen. This connector will simply pull off downwards as in the presentation below. 7) The laptop screen is now free and will come away from the laptop in one motion. All you need to do now is reverse these instructions to install the replacement laptop screen.
