How do I Replace the Screen on an Asus K53U?

Replacing the screen on an Asus K53U A broken laptop screen can be a source of great frustration. However, armed with the correct knowledge, you should be able to replace your Asus K35U yourself, saving, in the process, valuable time and money. Below, you'll find detailed instructions, (and a number of other resources,) to help guide you the screen replacement process. How to replace the screen on an Asus K53U Step one Firstly, before doing anything else, unplug your laptop from the mains power, remove the batter and, ensure that you have disconnected all peripheral devices,, (such as speakers.) Next, use a flat edged implement or a plastic opening tool to gently prise off both of the aesthetic screw covers located at the bottom of the front bezel. Once you have done that, unscrew the screws hidden underneath these covers and, set them aside safely. Then gently, (but firmly,) pull the front bezel away from the rest of the screen casing. Note: the bezel is held in place using plastic clips so, you should be able to pull it free from the screen. Proceed with caution, however, so as to avoid snapping the plastic.  Step two  Once you have successfully worked the front bezel off the machine and set it aside safely, you should see six screws, (two in the top corners and four at the bottom,) holding the broken screen in a metal holding frame. Unscrew, (and set aside safely,) the two screws found at the top of the screen and, then, partly unscrew the four screws found at the bottom of the damaged Asus K35U display. Once you have completed all of these steps, take hold of the top of the screen, (taking care if the damage to it extensive,) and, pull it slightly towards you. On both sides of the screen, you should find eight further screws, (four on either side.) Unscrew each of these screws and, set them aside.  Step three Still holding onto the top of the damaged screen, pull it further towards you and lay it flat so that it rests, (face down,) on the keyboard in front. At the bottom, (and back,) of the screen, you should see a fairly thick cable running back to the body of the machine. Disconnect this cable. You should now be in a position to remove the damaged screen from the machine. To fit your newly bought Asus K35U screen, just perform the above instructions in reverse.  Further advice  How to replace the screen on an Asus K53U: http://www.insidemylaptop.com/how-to-replace-screen-on-asus-k53u-laptop/  *Video* Asus K53U screen replacement: https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/watch?v=QTg47HjIra0  *Video* Asus K53U screen replacement video tutorial: https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/watch?v=fVJOq2PdE9I   Replacement Asus K53U screens Asus K53U screen replacement: https://www.laptop-lcd-screen.co.uk/shop/ASUS-K53U-15.6-LAPTOP-SCREEN__4298.asp    *Disclaimer: As with any repair you choose to undertake, Laptop-LCD-Screen.co.uk cannot be held responsible for any damage caused to your device during the replacement/repair process.
